Compensation
The Irrigon Rural Fire Protection District provides compensation in accordance with its organizational structure and statutory obligations. Board Members serve as elected officials and receive no financial compensation for their service. The Fire Chief is employed as a part-time (half-time) exempt employee and receives a fixed salary commensurate with the responsibilities of the position. Volunteer personnel do not receive wages; however, they are eligible for reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses incurred during emergency responses. This reimbursement is provided in the form of standardized stipends per call to service.
